Before I commit to the conference I was wondering if anyone was travelling through the Bergen County Area?? I’ll chip in for gas, etc. Please let me know!

I am hoping to share a ride from the Newark Nj airport to the Getaway on Jan 18th and / or back to Newark from the getaway after it’s done on the 21st. Flying in to Newark about 1pm on the 18th and leaving around 6pm on the 21st.
    Would greatly appreciate any help!

Hi, Frank — Did you get any reply to this request? I’m also booked into Newark on the 18th, and out on the 21st — though I may yet try to change it.

      Thanks,
      Kathe Davis

    Hi,
I’d like to return to the Getaway in 2013 – haven’t been since 2006! I live in Baltimore. Two poet friends who were considering the Getaway have backed out. Is anyone driving from the Baltimore area? Will contribute to gas/tolls, and I’ve been told my personality illuminates the road.

Hi Shirley – I live in Reisterstown but plan to drive up on Thursday and return on Sunday. Jeff

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your response! As it turns out, I have muscled – figuratively speaking – two friends from my Annapolis poetry group into attending the Getaway. They will both be first-timers. We’ll be driving together. Thanks so much for your offer, and I look forward to meeting you at the Getaway. What genre are you pursuing? Shirley

I would like to share my car if anyone else is coming from northwest of Philadelphia (Springfield Township, Montco), or between there and the getaway.

Hello, Jenny–I will arrive at the Philadelphia airport on Thursday, January 17, stay the night (Central City) and do some sightseeing, and then head to the conference Friday afternoon. Could I meet up and ride with you? I was planning to take the train but it would be more fun to meet someone on a shared ride. Thank you, Chandra

Chandra and Jenny — If I didn’t have my writers group meeting Thursday night, I’d volunteer to pick Chandra up at the airport and to stay at my house. However, I wonder if the two of you would like to meet here at my house in Collingswood early Friday afternoon, and proceed together from here. — Jody Staton

Jody, your thoughts are generous (would have picked me up at the airport …)–thank you. I’m game for joining you but, of course, we’ll have to hear from Jenny because I will not have a car. Cheers, Chandra

I’m coming from Collingswood, NJ, and can either offer a ride from nearby areas, or would be happy to pay for gas and tolls. Collingswood is across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, and just past Camden.

I am sharing my car with someone at this point, and also trying to arrange a family gathering over the weekend in NJ, so probably have enough on my plate now. But thanks. I hope you, Jody and Chandra, can meet up and make it work out.

Chandra — After your morning sightseeing in Philly, do you want to consider taking the PATCO high-speed line from Center City to Collingswood? (The stop here is just 4 blocks from my house, and I could pick you up there.) I’d like to leave here maybe around 2 or 3 p.m. to drive over to Stockton. — Jody Staton

Jody, that would be lovely–thank you. I looked at the PATCO site and found a station a block and a half from my hotel–very convenient. I sent my e-mail address as a message to your Facebook page so that we can plan further. Cheers, Chandra
