Carpooling to the 2024 Winter Getaway

December 15, 2023 BY Taylor Coyle

See our Travel Page for information on transportation to the Winter Getaway.

Have an extra space or two in your car? Flying in and looking to rent a car or share expenses on an airport shuttle? Taking public transit and looking to connect with other participants? Comment below to connect with others.

Please note:

  • We review comments here to combat spam, so your comment may take a day or two to appear.
  • Over the years participants have often waited until the last minute to use the carpool board. However, the sooner you post, the more likely you are to find someone to share a ride with.

I will driving down from Matawan and have space for 2 or 3 people in my car. I’ll be driving down early Thursday.

Hello, all! I am hoping to arrange some sort of carpooling situation for myself and someone living in the NYC area. I have a ride *to* the event. If anyone has extra space in their car for the ride *back* to NYC, I would be more than willing to work out a fair price.

    Thank you in advance,

    Caitlin Cacciatore

Hi. I am looking for two seats (for myself and my partner who is also attending the Getaway) in someone’s car going to or near Philly on Monday afternoon. We have a flight departing from the Philly airport at about 5:50pm on Monday. I would be happy to pay for your gas/snacks (or whatever you think reasonable) if you would be able to drop us off in Philly so we can catch SEPTA to the airport.

"I cannot express it enough: the writing opportunities that you provide are a GODSEND. We are all so busy in our daily lives–working, caregiving for young and old, surviving our daily challenges–that to have an uninterrupted respite to write and speak only of the craft of writing for a whole weekend is bliss. I truly enjoyed the Winter Getaway and its supportive community." – Karen, Highland Park, NJ
