Carpooling to the 2026 Winter Getaway

December 16, 2025 BY Taylor Coyle

See our Travel Page for information on transportation to the Winter Getaway.

Have an extra space or two in your car? Flying in and looking to rent a car or share expenses on an airport shuttle? Taking public transit and looking to connect with other participants? Comment below to connect with others.

Please note:

  • We review comments here to combat spam, so your comment may take a day or two to appear.
  • Over the years participants have often waited until the last minute to use the carpool board. However, the sooner you post, the more likely you are to find someone to share a ride with.

    Hi,
I live in Center City Philly. I do not have a car but would like to carpool with someone planning to drive and ahare the expenses.

    Thank you,
    Lynn

    Hello writers,
I live near Annapolis and could carpool with travelers from Baltimore or DC or the Eastern Shore. I am happy to contribute to travel costs, of course. I’m a bit hesitant to make the drive by myself and would prefer to be a passenger, if it works out.

    Thank you.

I just looked up your drive to see whether it goes through Philadelphia and it can; it is 9 minutes off the main route.
It says that is 67% of the way to Atlantic City from Annapolis.

I don’t know if the company and shared expenses make it worthwhile to you to pick up someone in Philadelphia….

        Hi Lynn,
I’m taking a route that goes up along the coast via Route 301 so Philadelphia is a bit far off my path. I do so appreciate the response and look forward to meeting you at Seaview!
        Mary

    Greetings fellow writers,

I am driving from Cumberland County, NJ, and would be glad to pick up someone who lives nearby or along my route. We can save a little gas money, and help save the planet, too, lol. And have some nice conversation.

Looks like I’ll be driving solo from Annapolis, Maryland. I wonder if there is a way to make this information available to people who hadn’t considered it but then realize later. How many coming from the DC/Baltimore/Delaware area are going to say, “Oh, I’d have been happy to carpool, if I’d known.”

Just thought I’d share this thought — maybe we let everyone know and not only the people who come to this page (which we can see is very few). Just a suggestion.

Mary still looking for a carpool (410) 353-8212 🙂 poet, fiction/memoir, writing professor.

If anyone goes through, or near Philadelphia on your route to Atlantic City, I would be very happy to catch a ride share with you and pay the costs of gas, tolls, etc.
