  After considering 107 applications, the panel has made its decisions. There were many strong applications and it was a tough choice, but the following writers were selected. Scholarships available for 2015 writers’ conference

  Four scholarships are being offered for first-time participants of the 22nd Annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, January 16-19, 2015. Recipients may choose from writing workshops in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, screenwriting and more, including special advanced sessions with Stephen Dunn and Kim Addonizio. In addition, the conference also offers open mics, tutorials, talks, sunrise yoga, dancing at the Getaway Disco and writerly camaraderie. We are as proud as brass buttons to announce that Taylor Coyle, our Murphy Writing Program Assistant, has won the 1st place poetry prize in the Richard Stockton College's 5th Annual Jennifer Cakert Writing Awards. (Read Taylor's award-winning poem, "The Science of Aging," below.) You can hear Taylor and the other prize winners read their poems and essays at Stockton College on Tuesday, April 8th at 6pm in Room F111. It's free and refreshments will be served. Dear Getaway Participant, All good things must end. The Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway has never been a money maker, but this past year left me with a considerable personal loss. Although I haven’t raised the tuition in three years, I realized I could not hold another Getaway without raising the tuition a lot. So after 18 years, I decided to call it quits. Fun Facts About Seaview Resort

Fun Facts About Seaview: Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones stayed at Seaview in 1989. We’re still trying to find out if they trashed their rooms. Princess Grace Kelly had her Sweet 16 Party at Seaview in 1946 in the room where we will hold the Getaway Disco. Presidents Harding & Eisenhower were both regulars. Seaview has hosted PGA & LPGA Championships on their award-winning Bay Course. Seaview is located on the edge of the Pine Barrens with hundreds of wooded acres waiting to be explore.
