Advanced Nonfiction Techniques
Writing Workshop in New Jersey
January 14-17, 2022
Led by Jesse Washington
12/10/21 update from the Director: This workshop will not run. See which workshops we are offering this year.
Designed for experienced nonfiction writers who yearn to take on gripping longform narrative, the revealing profile, the eloquent essay or the hard-hitting column, this workshop will prepare you to sit down and write. After reading examples from various genres, you will practice interview techniques, learn how to choose and research your subject and determine its structure. Jesse will offer a prompt to get you started, followed by writing time, feedback and a discussion of major story ideas to explore.
*Limited to just 10 participants.*
“The workshop leaders are talented and compassionate, pushing you to new levels. The atmosphere is charged with creativity and appreciation for the work of others. I travel from Chicago to attend and have not been disappointed.”
