25th Anniversary Celebration
We can’t believe the Getaway is a quarter century old. We can’t believe how it’s grown from humble beginnings in 1994—with 20 poets meeting in a small room in Cape May—to 220 poets and prose writers continuing to converge in our new home at Seaview. We invite you to come celebrate this major milestone with us.
Scholarships
We’ve added 2 additional scholarships for a total of 6. Details will be available by October 1. Learn more about scholarship opportunities.
Sampler Reboot
The Creative Writing Sampler has 3 new workshop leaders. Also, the memoir portion will be extended to a full day instead of a half day.
Additional Open Mics
Love to share your work? There will be 5 Open Mics this year including a special musical open mic for those who wish to bring an instrument.
Sharing Room
You may have taken advantage of our 24-hour “Quiet Writing Room” in the past. This year, we’ve decided to create a “Noisy Sharing Room.” This unhosted, informal setting offers even more opportunities to share your writing with fellow participants.
Stockton University Discount
Our Stockton Discount is now open to Stockton students, alumni, faculty, adjuncts and staff.
Group Photo
For the first time, we will organize a group shot of all Winter Getaway attendees. You’ll be able to tag yourself when we post it to social media after the event!
Challenges for the Delusional
Prompted to Write: More Challenges for the Delusional, our 2nd anthology, will be released at the Winter Getaway.
We look forward to seeing you in January.
