A Flash of Truth:
A Nonfiction Workshop
Writing Workshop in New Jersey
January 17-20, 2025
Led by Tyrese L. Coleman
Great flash nonfiction illuminates a fundamental truth about the human experience—in less than 1,000 words. The biggest misconception about flash nonfiction is that it’s easy to write because it’s so short, but crafting the truth of our human experience is anything but simple. In this supportive, generative workshop, you’ll read and discuss universal techniques seen in successful flash nonfiction from a myriad of writers and generate new flash nonfiction inspired by these samples. Participants will be encouraged to submit pieces to the class for feedback. Writers of all genres and experience are welcome.
*Limited to just 10 participants.*
“The workshop leaders are talented and compassionate, pushing you to new levels. The atmosphere is charged with creativity and appreciation for the work of others. I travel from Chicago to attend and have not been disappointed.”
