Writers in workshop

Writing Workshop in New Jersey
January 17-20, 2025
Led by Libby Cudmore

From stories under 500 words, to those told through Amazon wishlists, recipes or real estate listings—this workshop will allow you to explore telling complete pieces in short-short and alternative forms. Inspirational readings, thought-provoking prompts and plenty of time to write will give you the opportunity to leave this workshop with full drafts. Beginning and experienced writers are welcome!

*Limited to just 10 participants.*

“I love the three night time-frame. It allows for deep work and play. The workshops were the right length, and the panels and evening events were lovely. This was my first, but not my last time! Thank you.”
~ Laura, Montclair, NJ

About

This writing workshop is part of the Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, held each January. Peter E. Murphy started the Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway in 1994 based on his belief that when writers leave behind distractions to gather in an encouraging community, they will make breakthroughs in their art.

Celebrating its 32nd year, the Getaway is one of the oldest and largest writer's conferences in the winter season, attracting writers from across the globe.

"I cannot express it enough: the writing opportunities that you provide are a GODSEND. We are all so busy in our daily lives–working, caregiving for young and old, surviving our daily challenges–that to have an uninterrupted respite to write and speak only of the craft of writing for a whole weekend is bliss. I truly enjoyed the Winter Getaway and its supportive community." – Karen, Highland Park, NJ
